Mere Forum Chatter:

Rumours linking Arsenal flop Marouane Chamakh with a move to Fiorentina have been quashed by their sporting director, who has instead signed Chamakh's international strike partner Mounir El Hamdaoui.

Tabloid Speculation

Arsenal are battling with Barcelona to sign Toulouse's £10million-rated French midfielder Etienne Capoue. Only one winner there, then!

Contact Made:

Liverpool have approached Fulham concerning the availability of USA star Clint Dempsey. Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of the 29-year-old attacking midfielder, and hopes to complete the deal - in the region of £8million - before The Reds fly off for their pre-season tour next week.

Bid Tabled

New Reds boss Rodgers is also closing in on a deal for Fabio Borini, the young Italian with whom he worked at Chelsea and Swansea. Liverpool have tabled a £9million deal for the 21-year-old Roma striker, who is on holiday having spent June as a member of Italy's Euro 2012 squad.

Medical and Terms:

Chelsea have trumped Spurs to the signing of Internacional's attacking midfield sensation, Oscar. The 20-year-old, full name Oscar Dos Santas Emboaba Junior, is a Brazilian international who is set to star at the London 2012 Olympics, and has been snapped up for a cool £25million by Roberto Di Matteo.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered

New Swansea Boss Michael Laudrup has delved into the transfer market to bring Chico to Wales. No, not the flamboyant tone-deaf X-Factor contestant, but the promising Spanish centre half formerly of Genoa in Italy. The former under-21 international has cost £2million, and will serve as an ideal replacement for Steven Caulker, who has returned to parent club Tottenham.
